about the artist

AdrienneVictory Gomez
AdrienneVictory Gomez was born in New York City in 1938.  She was
educated at The City University, (CCNY), obtaining her Bachelor’s in
English & Films, and also learned at the great museums and galleries of
     New York.

She then traveled, and lived in San Francisco and Yelapa, Mexico for
several years, then settled in New Mexico in 1967.  She married
Little Joe Gomez, a Taos tribal elder, gardening, looking, partaking in
ceremonies, and living serenely with him in a log hogan they built together
     on the reservation.

Widowed in 1975, she got her Master’s in Art & Psychology, (Antioch
University and UNM), had a brief career as an Art Therapist, and began
painting regularly.  She had her first group showings at The Cathedral
Gallery, Santa Fe, in 2009-2010, and now operates her own studio/gallery at home.  She was recently given the name, “Victory,” to signify her spiritual attitude toward life.  Every day she must overcome chronic illness and disability to live and to paint.
